The regional Branches and Groups associated with the main Jane Austen Society organise
a wide range of activities for their members throughout the year. Events include
lectures, discussion groups, study days, visits to locations linked directly or indirectly
to the author and the period, weekend excursions, and social occasions. They offer both a
stimulating source of information and ideas, and an opportunity to meet other people sharing
a similar interest in the author, her life and her writing.
Further information on the specific activities of each Branch or Group, including details
of how to join, may be obtained by selecting the links on the left of the screen.
Although the Branches and Groups enjoy close links with the main Society, membership of a
Branch or Group is entirely separate from membership of the main Society. The latter does not
confer any concessions at regional level in terms of attendance, or entry fees, at local events.
Similarly, Branch or Group membership does not grant any entitlement to benefits or activities
provided by the main Society.
