Bath & Bristol Group : Diary of Events 2019
The events listed below are those specifically arranged by the Bath and Bristol Group of the Society. For details of other events related to
Jane Austen (theatre productions, musical events, lectures, literary festivals etc), some of which may also be located in this area of the country, please refer to the
Events UK page.
Saturday 6 April
at 3.00 pm
Illustrated talk by Penelope Byrde
Title: 'A Round of the Utmost Diversion': Dress and Social Life in Jane Austen's Bath.
Cost: £10 for sandwich tea and talk.
Payment at the door to avoid booking fee, but please contact Diana White via the above link to register your name so that numbers for tea can be calculated.
This is still under review. We are hoping to do a reading of an unperformed play, written by Winifred Gerin, on Jane Austen's unknown
suitor. Further details in due course.
Sunday 17 November
As there are limited spaces available, please contact Diane White early via firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve a place.
Due to the extra charge imposed by the Box Office and its removal to a less prominent position, we are no longer using their facility.
All those wishing to attend our events are asked to register their intention of so doing with Diana White and/or Ann Davis, and then
to pay on the door. (We need to know numbers in advance for the sandwich order!).
Events will continue to take place in the Elwin Room in BRLSI, Queen Square. Parking available in the nearby Charlotte Street car park,
a six-minute walk from the venue. Disabled parking (with badge) available on single yellow lines outside the venue. Lift access available.
Please make cheques payable to 'Jane Austen Bath and Bristol Group'.
