Sunday 20 August

Annual Austen Ramble

This year's Austen-themed walk is a circular route of roughly four-and-a-half miles around the grounds of Mersham-le-Hatch House, former home of Sir Edward Knatchbull and Fanny Knight. Walkers will meet at 1.15 pm for a 1.30 pm start outside the Secret Garden Restaurant.

We will be back by 4 pm, at which point we can enjoy refreshments at the Secret Garden. An informal booking has been made for eight people (at informal sofas rather than a formal table), and we are assured that tea and cake will be available. (Please note that for cream teas or afternoon teas, prior reservations are required; anyone interested should book this direct with the restaurant.)
