Diary of Events : 2009/2010

The following events include those arranged in 2009 (and also in January 2010) by the Jane Austen Society, together with a selection of further events with a Jane Austen theme offered by other organisations.

For details of events organised by individual Branches and Groups of the Jane Austen Society throughout the UK, please select the Branches link on the left of the screen.

The one exception to the above is the Conference in Bermuda The conference is organised by the Jane Austen Society of the UK for members of both the UK Society and the Jane Austen Society of North America. This is due to take place in May 2010.

Although the original closing date for applications (15 August) is now passed, there are still some places available. If you are interested in participating, please apply as soon as possible, and in any event before the end of the year. Full details of this event are available from the above link.

'On-line' Jane Austen course
The course, offered by Oxford University Continuing Education Department, aims to provide an analysis of Jane Austen's style and techniques, and a greater knowledge of the novels' context as an aid to the process of understanding and reading them.
